When’s the last time you stepped into something uncomfortable—on purpose—because you believed God was calling you?
Let’s be honest: we all like the idea of faith… as long as it doesn’t cost too much. But real faith always carries a risk. Not because God is untrustworthy, but because walking with Him means we don’t get to see the whole map before we start moving.
Hebrews 11:8 says:
“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, even though he did not know where he was going.”
That verse gets me every time. Abraham didn’t have Google Maps. He didn’t get a five-year plan from God. He just got a promise: “Go… and I will show you.” So he packed up and went.
Why would anyone do that?
Because faith isn’t rooted in clarity—it’s rooted in trust. Faith means saying, “God, I believe You are who You say You are. And even if I don’t know the whole plan, I trust that You do.”
Right now at Lake Hills, we’re walking into a season that requires real faith. Not just nice ideas or good intentions—but decisions that stretch us.
We’re praying bold prayers. We're taking risks in ministry. We’re sharing the gospel even when it feels awkward. We’re inviting people into our lives who don’t look, think, or live like us. We’re giving and serving even when it’s not convenient.
And I believe God will meet us in every single one of those risks.
Because here’s the truth:
God is not looking for perfect people.
He’s looking for willing people.
He doesn’t need us to play it safe. He calls us to walk by faith.
That means sometimes we’ll be uncomfortable. Sometimes we’ll feel stretched thin. Sometimes we’ll ask, “Is this going to work?” But if we never feel that tension, maybe we’re not actually walking by faith—we’re just managing what we already understand.
I believe God is growing us into a church that doesn’t just talk about faith but actually lives it.
A church that risks comfort for mission.
A church that believes in prayer, not just as a backup plan, but as a frontline strategy.
A church that says, “God, whatever You want—we’ll go.”
So if you’ve felt stretched lately, or scared, or uncertain… you’re not alone. But don’t pull back. Lean in.
Faith is risky.
But that’s the point.
And when we step out in obedience—God always meets us there.
